What can we can learn from Colantuono’s TedTalk?
Colantuono states that in order to move up within an Organization, you need to be known for your leadership skills. Per Colantuono’s definition, Leadership is defined by “using the greatness in you to achieve and sustain extraordinary outcomes by engaging the greatness in others.”
Colantuono points out, there are women who are smart, hardworking, committed, trustworthy, with great communication skills. Yet, they are stuck in middle management.
So when it comes to advancement within an organization, why are these women being overlooked?
According to Colantuono, it is a result of specific skills and abilities that company’s actually DO NOT ask for. Why? Because they are deemed as “a given.”
So what exactly are women missing in order to break through from middle management to a senior or executive position? Let Colantuono explain by clicking on the picture below to access her TedTalk (2014).
